What is Chabad of Newfoundland?
Chicken soup on Friday night. The light in a child’s eyes when he reads his first Hebrew word. A helping hand in times of need. It's our community wide Menorah lighting, sharing the vision of hope and goodness for all humanity.
Bringing friendship and companionship to a child with special needs.
Chabad is a home away from home for every Jew in Newfoundland. We are dedicated to serving the community, Jewish and beyond - and now we’re asking for your support to help us build a brighter future, together.
How are we funded?
Our Rabbi and Rebbetzin work tirelessly to develop and maintain relevant programs and services for our community. The day-to-day expenses of operating a Chabad centre can be daunting. It requires a major investment of time, energy and capital. In an effort to be accessible to everyone, we do not charge membership fees and we keep our event prices to a minimum. We rely on the generosity of the community that we serve.
How does a Match Campaign work?
3 generous matchers have come forward with a proposal to help Chabad thrive this year. They will match every donation X2 !.
From Sunday December 11th noon, through Monday Dec 12th at midnight, your dollar will have double the impact.
$50 grows into $100
$100 grows into $200
$180 grows into $360
$500 grows into $1,000
$1,000 grows into $2,000
How can I help?
You can be a partner in everything we do to benefit the residents of Newfoundland by contributing to our campaign this Sunday December 11th noon, through Monday Dec 12th at midnight, and by spreading the word. Maimonides says that every good deed, no matter how small, tips the scale of humanity toward goodness.
